Description

Caol Ila (pronounced “Cull Eela”) is Gaelic for “The Sound of Islay”, the strait that separates the Hebridean islands of Islay and Jura.
Somewhat hidden on the rugged east coast, the islanders have been making fine smoky whiskies there since 1846.
The barley used is still malted in Port Ellen, the pure spring water comes from the nearby Loch Nam Ban limestone.

Caol Ila Moch (Gaelic for dawn) lives up to its name. Crisp, assertive and direct.

Tasting notes:

Colour: Pale gold.
Nose: fresh, salty sand, notes of smoke, beach fire.
Flavour: sweet and salty, maritime, sea breeze, smoke.
Finish: Long lasting, slightly dry, smoky.
